A House of Osmar Editorial Report

The Osmar Index

A love letter to the craft of cleaning — an annual map of the Austin home cleaning landscape, drawn to help every home find the house that's meant for it.

2026 Edition · First Annual
Why We Publish This

We are in love with this industry. Every company on this map makes homes — and lives — better, and we respect each of them for it.

We believe deeply in the value of cleaning, and we believe something else: certain homes are meant to match with certain companies. A downtown condo, a family home in Round Rock, and an estate in Westlake each deserve a different kind of care. The Index doesn't exist to declare winners. It exists to showcase what's probably meant for you.

The 2026 Landscape

Ten houses shaping residential cleaning across Greater Austin, plotted by the two dimensions that matter most in a match: how much a company can do, and how it feels to be in their care. There is no wrong quadrant — only the right fit.

The Houses of Austin

Austin is well served, and we're proud to share this market. These are the houses we respect — what each does beautifully, and the home each is probably meant for.

The House Standard

House of Osmar™

Serving Central Texas since 2006. The full residential catalog — Signature Clean™, Restoration Clean™, Move-In/Move-Out, Post-Construction, and Turnover — delivered under a documented room-by-room standard that closes every visit with The Osmar Touch™. The reference point for the top-right quadrant, and the standard this Index is named for.

Probably meant forThe home that treats its care as a ritual — estates and residences in Westlake, Bee Cave, Round Rock and Hutto where the standard matters as much as the shine.

The House Standard

The Boardwalk Cleaning Co.

Founded in 2003 and women-owned — co-owners Jessica Duarte and Paula Jones started the company from a Cedar Park garage. BBB accredited since 2003, every clean backed by a 24-hour warranty, serving Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander and Pflugerville. They also donate free cleanings each month to families undergoing cancer treatment.

Probably meant forThe busy household that values a proven, communicative team — and realtors who need a name they can stake a listing on.

The House Standard

Maids and Moore

Family-owned and BBB accredited, with a deeper catalog than most realize — recurring service, move-in/move-out, post-construction, and carpet and tile — backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee. A Cleaning for a Reason partner donating free cleanings to those in need, serving Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Leander and Liberty Hill. Clients describe walking in like checking into a five-star hotel.

Probably meant forThe homeowner north of the city who wants real service depth with a hotel-fresh finish.

Established Operator

Molly Maid of Greater Austin

Serving Travis, Williamson and Hays Counties under the Molly Maid banner since the early 1990s, with trained, insured, background-checked teams working a 44-point checklist, backed by the Neighborly Done Right Promise™. Broad reach and franchise consistency; experience can vary by team.

Probably meant forThe family that wants the reassurance of a national name with three decades of local roots.

Established Operator

Merry Maids of South Austin

Locally owned under a national brand founded in 1979, with bonded and insured teams and a detail few competitors match: every clean is checked by a dedicated QA inspector. Serves South, Southeast and Downtown Austin out to Bastrop.

Probably meant forThe South Austin home that wants steady, scheduled care without ceremony.

Established Operator

Morehands Maid Service

Family-owned in Austin since 2000 and a multi-year Austin Chronicle Best Maid Service winner. Cleaners are W-2 employees rather than gig workers, quotes are instant online, and if they ever cancel on you, they pay you $100. Serves Austin, Round Rock and Cedar Park, with laundry and organizing add-ons.

Probably meant forThe household that wants an award-winning local team on a rhythm it can set a clock by.

Volume Service

Ema's Housekeeping

A South Austin family operation holding 4.6 stars across 76 Yelp reviews with Yelp Guaranteed status. Deep cleaning and sanitizing for homes and offices with a satisfaction guarantee — proof that value and quality aren't opposites.

Probably meant forApartments, condos, and first-time clients who want an excellent clean without a luxury invoice.

Boutique Specialist

Texas Green Clean

Where luxury meets environmental responsibility: exclusively non-toxic, eco-friendly products, delivered by insured, bonded, ID-screened W-2 employees. Over a decade serving Austin, praised for punctuality and pricing that undercuts mainstream companies.

Probably meant forThe household where what's in the bottle matters as much as the result — little ones, pets, and sensitive homes.

Volume Service

The Cleaning Authority — Austin

An Austin franchise since 2003 built around the Detail-Clean Rotation System®, which works deep-clean tasks through the home over successive visits. Bonded, insured, background-checked teams, eco-responsible products, and a next-day re-clean guarantee, serving Austin out to Cedar Park, Lakeway and Westlake Hills.

Probably meant forThe practical home that wants methodical, eco-minded upkeep on a budget that behaves.

Boutique Specialist

Austin Luxury Cleaning

Since 2016, bonded cleaning staff for homes and commercial spaces, with maid service from daily to bi-weekly and specialty luxury add-ons. Clients report quality beyond prior services they've used.

Probably meant forThe client who wants premium recurring care from a small, focused team.

How the Index Is Drawn

Two axes. Public evidence. No pay-for-placement — including from us. Drawn with respect for every house on the map.

Service Depth

The vertical axis measures the breadth and rigor of the published catalog: recurring and deep cleaning, move-in/move-out, post-construction, turnover and specialty work — and whether the company publishes a documented cleaning standard rather than a general promise.

Client Experience

The horizontal axis measures how it feels to be the client: review sentiment across major platforms, satisfaction guarantees and re-clean policies, insured and background-checked teams, ease of booking, and consistency of communication.

What We Read

Published service menus and pricing pages, Google, Yelp and Thumbtack review profiles, stated credentials (bonding, insurance, background checks), guarantee language, and each company's own materials — all publicly available.

What We Don't Do

No company can pay to appear, move, or be removed. House of Osmar authors this report and appears in it; we mark our own placement plainly and invite readers to test it against the same public record we used for everyone else.

The Osmar Index™ is an editorial opinion of House of Osmar, prepared from publicly available information as of August 2026. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any company named. If your home is meant for the top right

we'd be honored to care for it. The Index is drawn once a year; the standard behind it is kept daily, in homes across Greater Austin, Westlake, Bee Cave, Round Rock and Hutto.
